“Well done, good and faithful servants”
Thank you! I am thankful for each and every one of you.
I am overwhelmed by your faithful service.
I am grateful for the generous ways you serve, and give, and care for one another.
You each reflect the light of God’s grace.
And no, I am not exaggerating or trying to flatter you. I am encouraged by your faith and your commitment to the ministry God has given us in this place. I see your love for one another, your acts of kindness and prayers when a brother or sister in Christ is suffering, and your desire to share God’s love with those in our community who do not have a church home.
Our Stewardship Theme this fall has been Good and Faithful Servants. We emphasized that first, we have been Gifted to Serve, and second, that Everyone Can Contribute. It takes everyone offering what God has so freely given us to offer thanks back to God, and to meet the mission challenges before us.
Thank you for sharing your Estimates of Giving and your Time & Talent cards on our Commitment Sunday. If you were not able to attend, we are still accepting them by mail. Our Church Council and Budget planning committee will be using these commitments as we make plans for ministry for the coming year.
God’s mission in this world is done by those whose hearts are shaped to serve.
“As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace…whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ...” 1 Peter 4:10-11
Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are varieties of ministries, and the same Lord. There are varieties of effects, but the same God who works all things in all persons. But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. 1 Cor. 12:4-7
Serving with you in Christ,
Pastor Marty
